Our passengers are women from Canada - once in a while we have passengers from other countries join us as well which is great! Our passengers are an even mix - Single, married, widowed and divorced. They range in age from mid 30s to mid 70s with the core group between 45 to 65 years.  

Hello Ladies,

A new year brings many new things and we have a big one – We've moved!

Oh, my goodness what a project. I have always wanted to have my own building to put my travel agency into and last fall the perfect place came up. I should qualify perfect – the right location, the right size, and a great layout, but a fixer-upper just the same.

Between three trips last year; my English Lakes tour, Northwest Spain & Portugal and gorgeous Douro River Cruise and a 17 Day trip through Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls, I purchased a lovely old building, applied to the city to have my travel agency installed in it and began interior renovations.

On the 23 December I received final word to go ahead and by the end of January we were moved. This was no easy feat as we had been in our previous location for 34 years – let's just say I truly don't want that project again for a long time. Anyway we are here at 1049 Sydenham Road, Kingston, Ontario K7M 3L8. After a full month of cleaning, purging and packing we are just now settling in and finally getting back to work. We will have photos for our next newsletter.

Before I go any further with information about upcoming projects I must let everyone know (for those who don't already) about the loss of a long time traveller and dear friend, Helen McEwen who passed away on December 20.

I know this is hard news for many of you who like me had the wonderful opportunity to know Helen and the joy of travelling with her. She was, in fact my first travel buddy and was frequently instrumental in organizing several of our special interest groups from the late eighties as she began travelling with us shortly after her husband died. She was always the same, relaxed, friendly, adventurous, fearless and just a wonderful person to be with. Over the past 20 years I can't count how many times I told someone that I would happily travel to the ends of the earth with her. Aside from her wonderful company she was so helpful to several women she came in contact with who looked for some understanding and support at the loss of their husbands, including me. We will so miss you Helen and cherish the happy memories of discovering the world with you. 

What's new

Even with the reno's and moving going on we still have some wonderful escorted tours and travel ideas coming up.

As winters go this one hasn't been a difficult one but winter is winter and we understand from many of you that the coming of Spring and our Spring European tours are greatly anticipated. We do still have availability on the following exciting escorted tour programs:

• Discover the Best of Provence, France - April 25 to May 03 - After the move and because I personally love this trip so much I will be going on this one.
• Discover the Seaside Villages of France and Spain - May 04 to 16  - This tour was great fun last year.
• Coast to Coast - Discover the Best of Ireland - July 14 to 28   - Denise is taking this one and advises me that she still has about 6 spaces left.

Denise and the gals that joined her on our 2nd Annual Girls Just Gotta Have Fun Cruise had a wonderful time. She is working on the 3rd annual cruise for late February 2013.

I thank so many of your for your kind patience and consideration while we proceeded through the move and look forward to communicating with you and the opportunity to travel with you soon. As ever we really enjoy your feedback, comments and suggestions and we look forward to travelling with many of you in the near future.
